Description
The sweet chestnut tree, standing in at 35 meters, are striking trees with spiked covered fruit and jagged toothed leaves. With a lifespan of 700 years, this tree will need to be planted with enough space other wise you risk either choking it or needing to cut the surrounding vegetation away. Underneath the sea urchin like cover, the fruit underneath are enjoyed by many at Christmas time as the sweet chestnut fruit is the classic Christmas nut. The sweet chestnut tree does not need too much attention as long as it has enough space to grow and moist well drained soil, it will grow for the next few centuries.
